Here we go! The first edition of Free Pattern Faves— a chance to highlight and love on the amazing patterns and hacks that folks in our creative community share with the rest of us for free! This month I wanted to showcase the latest beginner-friendly quilt pattern I put to good use this past holiday season:

TUMBLING BLOCKS WITH NO Y SEAMS by Teresa Mairal Barreu

I’ve always wanted to try my hand at quilting and this pattern is such a great way to get your feet wet. It really lends itself to those of us who are deemed “scrappy quilters.” Believe me, my quilting skills are veeery scrappy. Whether you’re methods are scrappy or precise, this pattern is a lovely go-to for any stash busting projects on your list. What I think I love most is the clear video tutorial. The music is so soothing to me…

I recently used this pattern to whip up a small baby doll crib quilt for my niece. I fell in love with this method of putting together a tumbling blocks quilt and can’t wait to try it out again! Check out Teresa’s blog and get to quilting!
